PESDA Peloponnese
The «Regional Association F.O.D.S.A. Peloponnese» (N.P.D.D.) of the Regional Peloponnese is responsible for preparing the PESDA all over the Municipality of the Region. The Regional plan for Solid Waste Management (PESDA) is a comprehensive text on the solid waste management in the Peloponnese Region defines the general directions and objectives, in accordance with the direction of the National Waste Management Plan (ESDA), as well aw the specialized management proposals for specific and alternative currents. Inaddition, PESDA outlines the required infrastructure and the complementary actions to achieve its goals.
The object of the present review is:
- To amend the current PESDA (Decision of the General Assemblyof the Peloponnese Region no. 5145/2-12-2010-ADA:4IFTHIAR-Φ), pursue to the latest environmental legislation and social and economic data, a cording to the so four implemented measures.
- To integrate the Local waste management project and the proposed infrastructure and actions where possible.
- To draw and update the management proposals on soled waste currents, according to the management plans under ESDA.
- To update current situation on origin quality and quantity of waste, and to forecast future production.
- To update current situation on infrastructure and solid waste management to propose alternatives for management plan and transitional management with aum to promote sustainable infrastructure for integrated management in the Region.
- To update current situation on the state of the environment by waste management.
- To review the management units of the Region and the proposals on function of FODSA, based on national legislation.
- The plan focuses on the Region of Peloponnese as the referenceregion. Peloponnese is administratively divided into five regional units (Arcadia, Argolida, Konithia, Lakonia, Messinia) composed of 26 municipalities, Tripoli being the capital city.
